Aldermen Pauline A. Stratton and Mark Brachman together with The Valley Inn, are proud to offer three (3) $500.00 scholarships for college bound high school seniors.
The scholarship is designed to assist financially three 2008 graduating seniors who wish to pursue their education at a college or university.
The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college or university to be used towards tuition or books.
In edition to residing in the Second Ward of Palos Hills, each applicant must:
1. Graduate High School in the Spring / Summer of 2008
2. Earn a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 by the end of the seventh semester in high school while actively participating in extracurricular activities.
3. Comment on the role of high school seniors and their importance in city growth. Include specific ideas or plan that young citizens could follow to make Palos Hills a better place to live.
4. The application must be completed by June 1, 2008 and winners will be announced by June 30, 2008.
